There is light always at the end of the Tunnel – Widows provided with dry ration and sanitary pad kits – “Truly Deserving”
Dr. John Joseph foundation yet again showcases their magic by giving the widows a better chance in the society to survive. The 55 widows were identified by Evelyn Prasanna who does local relief support work around the Ikkadu Tiruvallur area.
As an introduction, Churchill Joseph,founder of Dr John Joseph Foundation gave a brief on the relief works carried out by the Organisation. The give away event was also attended by Padmapriya Baskaran, CEO of Sanitation First India, Ms. Nisha Kesavan, coordinator and Ms. Komala, Member of Child welfare committee. The Sanitation First India distributed sanitary pads to these women and explained to them about the importance of menstrual hygiene.
The chief guest for the day was Mr Duraipandian, Deputy Superintendent of Police – Tiruvallur Tamil Nadu Police where he appreciated the efforts put in by local NGOS to help out the widows residing at Tiruvallur. He also emphasized on the safety protocols that has to be maintained during these difficult times.
The guests were gratified by Evelyn Prasanna and the Press association at Tiruvallur as they were presented with honour shawls. The beneficiaries were out of words due to happiness for the extreme help they had received and thanked the organizations and team members for all the provisions.
